Price Quotation
The artist will provide the Client with a written quotation for the requested artwork. This quotation includes the cost of materials, and any additional charges that may apply. Note that the price quoted does not include any import charges if shipped outside of the UK, these must be paid locally be the Client.
Prices are subject to change based on the complexity of the project but will be agreed upon before the commencement of work.
Acceptance of the Commission
Acceptance of the commission must be made in writing (email is acceptable). By accepting the commission, the Client agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
Booking Fee
A booking fee of 50% of the total quoted price is required to secure the commission and begin work. This booking fee is only refundable if I am unable to complete your portrait due to circumstances beyond my control (eg illness). This booking fee will be deducted from the final payment.
Photo Provision
For commissions based on photographs, the Client must provide high-quality, clear photos. The quality of the commissioned piece is directly related to the quality of the provided photograph. The Artist reserves the right to reject any photo that does not meet the necessary quality standards.
Time Scale for Portrait
The completion time for a commission is dependent on the Artist’s current workload, the complexity of the commissioned piece, and the size of the artwork. An estimated completion date will be provided when the commission is accepted. However, this is an estimate and not a guarantee. The Artist will ensure they communicate regularly with the Client to keep them up to date with their commission.
Balance Payment
The balance of the payment is due upon completion of the artwork, before shipping or delivery. The artwork will not be shipped or delivered until the final payment has been received. Payment is taken via bank transfer or PayPal, an invoice will be sent to the Client’s email. Failure to pay in full after a written reminder two weeks after the invoice is issued will cancel our agreement and the artwork may be sold elsewhere to recover my costs.
Copyright
The Artist retains copyright to the commissioned artwork from the Client’s photo, and it must not be reproduced without permission.
Sharing on Social Media
The Artist reserves the right to share the commissioned artwork on social media and this website for portfolio purposes, unless specifically requested otherwise by the Client in writing.
Termination of Commission Request
The Client may terminate the commission request at any time before the initial deposit payment. Once work on the commission has started, the deposit will not be refunded but may be applied to future commissions. If the Artist must cancel the commission due to unforeseen circumstances, the deposit will be fully refunded to the Client.
